Hornsby Named to NEHC All-Conference, All-Rookie Teams

HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced the recipients of the league's major award winners, the All-Conference Team, and the All-Rookie Team on Thursday, as selected by the league's head coaches.

Freshman forward Alexis Hornsby (Atkinson, N.H.) was named to the Third Team All-Conference and the All-Rookie Team following a huge rookie season here at NEC. Hornsby finished second in the conference in goals (14) and third in points (26), while ranking tied for eighth in assists (11). She played in all 25 games this season for the 'Grims, leading the team in both goals and points, and finishing second in assists.

Hornsby's 14 goals are the most goals scored by an NEC freshman in 18 years, and the third most in program history by a rookie. The New Hampshire-native had three multi-goal games on the year and scored at least one goal in every single NEC win this season.

"Making the NEHC All-Rookie and 3rd Team All-Conference showcases the work that Lex put in this season and culminated the weekly awards she received", said head coach Mackenzie Meegan. "I am excited for the progress the team made during this season and am looking forward to next year."
