HENNIKER, N.H. - New England College freshman forward Jamie Blondin (Oakville, Ont.) of the NEC women's ice hockey team was named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Rookie of the Week for the week ending on November 3rd.
Playing in her first two career games at the college level, Blondin recorded assists in both games against MCLA over the weekend. The rookie made the assist on the team's lone goal on Friday night, finding sophomore defender Mae Lafferty (South Boston, Mass.) who converted for the team's first goal of the season. On Saturday afternoon, Blondin was credited with the secondary assist on a goal by fellow freshman forward Cordelia Hauck (Hugo, Minn.) to bring the 'Grims within one.
After the short week, the Ontario-native ranks tied for second in the NEHC in both points and assists. Blondin and the 'Grims are back in action tomorrow night, Tuesday, November 5th, as they welcome the Plymouth State University Panthers into town for a 7:00 PM matchup at Lee Clement Arena.
