HENNIKER, N.H. - Freshman forward
Alexis Hornsby (Atkinson, N.H.) of the New England College women's ice hockey team has been named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Rookie of the Week for the week ending on December 10
th, 2023, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
In the team's lone game this past week, a 4-3 comeback win over Worcester State, Hornsby played a pivotal role with two assists before scoring the game-winner. Â The freshman continues to lead the team with seven goals and 12 points, while being tied for second with five assists.
"It's exciting to see Alexis honored for the third week in a row", said Head Coach
Mackenzie Meegan. "She has been an integral part in our success over the last month and we can't wait to see Alexis continue to develop throughout her future at NEC!"
This marks the third straight week that Hornsby has been named the NEHC Rookie of the Week, a stretch that has seen her team go 4-1 including an active three-game winning streak.
Both Hornsby and the rest of the team will look to keep their streaks alive when they return from winter break for a matchup against Salem State on Friday, January 5
th at 6:00 PM.
