HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England Hockey Conference announced on Monday afternoon that NEC's
Alexis Hornsby was named the NEHC Rookie of the Week for the week ending on November 26
th.
The freshman's second career goal could not have come at a more opportune time as she took a long pass from the goalie and went coast to coast for the game-winner against Albertus Magnus on Tuesday, lifting the Pilgrims to their first win of the season.
"Alexis has been working hard for this and I am excited for her to keep building and become an essential part of our team" said women's hockey head coach
Mackenzie Meegan on Hornsby.
Prior to this week, the forward from Atkinson, New Hampshire had her only other goal in the first game of the season at Rivier University in a close contest.
NEC is back on the ice next Tuesday when they host Norwich University in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action with puck-drop scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
