Men's Soccer Comes Up Short At Southern Maine

Gorham, Maine – The New England College men's soccer team lost 2-0 at the University of Southern Maine in non-conference action on Thursday evening at Hannaford Field in Gorham, Maine.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After a scoreless first half, USM senior midfielder Orlando Herrera (Milbridge, Maine) broke the stalemate in the 56th minute with a volley just inside far post for his first goal of the season. Then in the 76th minute, senior midfielder Zekariya Shaib (Portland, Maine) scored the insurance goal for the Huskies to put the game away. Junior defenseman William Smith (Northborough, Mass.) assisted on both scores.
