Records: Pilgrims 0-1 | Owls 1-0
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Just 8:46 into the contest, NEC junior forward Logan Cassin (Penacook, N.H.) scored his first goal of the season off a putback on his own shot as the Pilgrims went ahead 1-0.
- Cassin had another golden scoring opportunity in the 21st minute after beating the keeper, but UMPI sophomore defender Tiernan Barbosa (Caribou, ME) swooped in to make the defensive saving, keeping the deficit at a single goal.
- In the 34th minute, the 'Grims made 2-0 as NEC freshman midfielder Noel Huliselan (Dover, N.H.) put a low arcing corner kick down and found graduate forward Tucker Stenger (Enfield, N.H.) in front of the net. It was Stenger's first goal of the season and the first assist of Huliselan's collegiate career as the hosts went into halftime leading by two.
- The second half saw NEC continue to hold the advantage in possession in scoring opportunities, but despite some physical play on both sides, the 2-0 score held up.
