Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College Women's Ice Hockey team has their Senior Day soured, as they fall to Salem State University 3-1, in New England Hockey Conference action, Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Salem State started fast, as they were able to score on the second shot of the game, as Makayla McGrath scored off of a rebound in the first minute. The Vikings would carry that 1-0 lead into the intermission, as they outshot the Pilgrims 17-12 in the opening 20 minutes.
In the second period, Cassie Kelly tied the game up for New England College, as she goes coast-to-coast, through the Salem State defense, and deks the goalie for the easy score. The Vikings responded with two goals halfway through the middle period to give them a 3-1 advantage.
In the third period, New England College was unable to cut into the deficit, despite outshooting Salem State 14-13.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Sean D'urso recorded 41 saves for New England College.
- SSU outshot NEC 44-36.
- Neither team was able to score on the powerplay, as NEC was 0-for-2, while the Vikings were 0-for-5.
