HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College men's soccer team lost 2-1 visiting Salem State University in non-conference action on Wednesday night at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Salem State picked up first half goals from freshman midfielder Felipe DeSouza (Medford, Mass.) and sophomore forward Endi Doku (Peabody, Mass.) to take a 2-0 advantage going into halftime.
- With time running out for the Pilgrims, NEC junior forward Logan Cassin (Penacook, N.H.) finished on a pass from sophomore midfielder William Scala (Manchester, N.H.) to pull them to within one with 4:36 to go in the game. It was Cassin's team-leading sixth goal of the season.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC sophomore goalkeeper Hayden Walker (Manchester, N.H.) tallied seven saves on the day, while Salem State senior keeper Matt Hauntsman (Milford, N.H.) picked up the win for the Vikings.
- The Vikings outshot the Pilgrims, 31-10.
- NEC is now 1-5 all-time against Salem State.
