Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. The No. 2 seeded New England College men's soccer team's 2019 campaign comes to a close, as the Pilgrims fall to No. 3 seeded Eastern Nazarene College Lions in the New England Collegiate Conference Semifinals, Thursday afternoon on Don Melander Field.

HOW IT HAPPENEDFrom the opening whistle, Eastern Nazarene was able to apply pressure on the New England College backline. ENC was able to get on the board in the 15
th minute, as Brian Vargas' cross found the head of Matthew Cawthorne who scored the opening goal. New England College applied the pressure on Eastern Nazarene, but the Pilgrims could not capitalize on the free-kick from right in front of the Lion's bench.
ENC would be able to extend their lead to 2-0 minutes later, as Leon Zaffonato was able to score off a failed clear attempt from the NEC backline. Eastern Nazarene nearly pushed their lead to 3-0, as the Lions five shots in five minutes. The two teams would head into the intermission with ENC leading in shots (13-5), and corner kicks (4-1).
Eastern Nazarene was able to extend their lead to 3-0, as Stanley Elie was able to score after the ball bounced around in the box. The Lions made it 4-0, as Prem Subedi had a low cross into the middle of the NEC box, where he found the right foot of Charlie Swann.
The Lions were able to score two more goals, but
Panagiotis Galatas was able to get New England College on the board in the 87
th minute, with his sixth goal of the season.
GOALTENDERSRobbie Ferguson recorded nine saves for the Pilgrims, while Tim Eddings picked up six for the Lions.
