Box Score WATERVILLE, ME. Colby College shot 50 percent (36 of 72) from the field and 48.5 percent (16 of 33) from long range, as the Mules sink the New England College men's basketball team 103-67 in the final game of the Colby College Classic, Saturday evening.
With the win, the Mules move 5-0 on the year, while the Pilgrims fall to 2-3.
HOW IT HAPPENEDThe game started fairly even with both teams trading points as the score was pushed to 8-6 in favor of Colby. The Mules went on a 17-3 run to extend their lead to 25-9 about halfway through the first. The Pilgrims were able to gain some traction but Colby kept pushing as the score was pushed to 42-22 in favor of the Mules. Things evened up some for the rest of the half as both teams traded points leading to a 52-30 lead for the Mules heading into the half.
Izaiah Winston-Brooks and
Stephen Fama led New England College in points for the first half with seven, while Wallace Tucker Paced Colby with 18. The Mules kept the pressure on in the second half as they were able to extend their lead to 81-46 about halfway through. Colby finished the game with a win by a score of 103-67.
