Box Score AMHERST, Mass. The New England College men's soccer team fell to No. 2 Amherst College 4-1 in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon on Hitchcock Field on the campus of Amherst College.

HOW IT HAPPENEDAmherst broke got on the board in the 14
th minute, as a cross into the box, was headed into the NEC net by a Pilgrim defender. The Pilgrims would only limit the Mammoths to just one goal in the first half, despite being outshot 17-1 in the opening 45 minutes.
Amherst opened up the second half with two goals within 19 minutes to go up 3-0, but 1:14 later New England College was able to breakthrough.
Tucker Stenger broke the shutout bid in the 65
th minute as he chipped the shot over the diving keeper. The nationally-ranked Mammoths tacked on another goal to go up 4-1.
GOALTENDERSRobbie Ferguson racked up 13 saves on the afternoon, despite taking the loss. Amherst split time between Will Dunne and Kofi Hope-Gund would combine for one save.
