Men's Soccer Edged by Babson, 1-0

HENNIKER, N.H.-The New England College men's soccer team battled the Babson College Beavers to through 83 minutes of scoreless soccer before Babson scored, claiming the 1-0 non-conference win on Wednesday afternoon.

With the loss, NEC falls to 4-4-1, while Babson improves to 4-1-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Babson dominated the shots column in the first half and put nine of their 15 shots on goal in the first half, but NEC keeper Dylan Mix (Charlestown, Mass.) stopped all nine.
The Pilgrims were forced to play down a man for a majority of the second half following a red card in the 58th minute.

In the 84th minute, Babson's Ross Shellow (Miami, Fla.) collected a ball inside the 18-yard box near the right top corner. His positioning drew Mix out and set up Shellow for the pass to Youcef Ziad (Holbrook, Mass.), who took the game-winning shot.

GOALKEEPERS
Mix finished with 14 saves on the day, while Babson's Austin Mankouski (Suffield, Conn.) stopped the only shot NEC put on goal.

The Pilgrims are back in action on Saturday when they host Eastern Nazarene College in a 1:30 p.m. New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) match.
