NEW LONDON, N.H. The Colby-Sawyer College men's soccer team blanked New England College, 3-0, in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Wednesday afternoon at Kelsey Field.
Colby-Sawyer has won three straight to improve to 3-4 overall and 2-0 in the NAC. New England College drops to 1-3-2 overall and 0-1-1 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Chargers struck just over eight minutes into the match on a transition play. Junior Noah Camelo (Marblehead, Mass.) took a kick from center back that flew over all of the NEC defenders and landed at the feet of senior Denali Sexton (Barrington, R.I.). Sexton beat the oncoming keeper for his team leading fifth goal of the season.
Sexton helped the home team double its lead in the 31st minute when he sent a thru ball to set up senior teammate Jake Sykes (Laconia, N.H.) who finished in the back of the net.
Colby-Sawyer took a 2-0 lead into the break with an 8-5 edge in shots.
Sykes then connected with Camelo in the 72nd minute for a 3-0 Chargers lead. Sykes sent a corner kick towards the box that deflected off the keepers hands. Camelo cleaned it up with his first score of the season.
Colby-Sawyer outshot NEC 13-8 and held an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Colby-Sawyer junior goalie Shane Sacks (Huntington Station, N.Y.) made five saves in the shutout. NEC keeper
Tenzin Khenrab (Greenfield, Mass.) had three saves in 76 minutes, while Dylan Mix (Charlestown, N.H.) did not face a shot in the final 14 minutes of action.
