Men's Soccer Falls to Nationally Ranked Amherst College

Box Score Henniker, N.H. Amherst College men's soccer would strike three times in the opening half beating the New England College Pilgrims 3-0 Wednesday night.

With the win the Lord Jeffs improve to 8-1-1 on the season, while the loss drops the Pilgrims to 5-6-0 overall.

SCORING

Amherst would waste no time getting on the board in the opening minutes of play as Christopher Martin would dribble the ball up field and punch in a shot netting his fourth goal of the season. The Lord Jeffs would make it 2-0 in the 16th minute as Cameron Bean would head in nice feed from Martin. Amherst would get their final tally of the game just four minutes later as Martin would strike again, unassisted in the 20th minute.

GOALTENDING

Picking up the win in goal for Amherst was Lee Owen who made eight saves in 75 minutes of work.

Splitting time in net for NEC was Maxime Danis who finished with two saves and Samuel Thompson who stopped one shot.

WHAT'S NEXT

New England College will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 8 when they host conference opponent Lyndon State College.

Amherst College will hit the field again on Saturday, Oct. 8 when they host conference foe Hamilton College.
