Box Score Henniker, N.H.- Amherst College forward Christopher Martin (Philadelphia, Pa.) would net two goals and dish out an assist leading the Lord Jeffs past the New England College Pilgrims 4-1 in men's soccer action Wednesday night.
The win is the first of the season for the Lord Jeffs who are now 1-0-0, while the loss drops the Pilgrims to 0-1-1 overall.

Amherst would net the equalizer in the 25th minute of play as Christopher Martin (Philadelphia, Pa.) would send a pass through the center that would be fired in by sophomore Nico Pascaul-Leone (Wayland, Mass.).
The two teams would battle through the next 18 minutes scoreless before Amherst would break the scoring drought as Elliot Cassutt (Minneapolis, Minn.) would punch in a loose ball in front of the net with just 1:12 remaining in the first half, sending the Lord Jeffs into halftime up 2-1.
The Pilgrims would keep the Lord Jeffs in check for the opening 28 minutes of the second half but Amherst's Christopher Martin would record his first collegiate goal scoring in the 77th minute off a nice feed from Pascaul-Leone.
Amherst would tack on an additional insurance goal in the 79th minute as Martin would head in a pass of the head of Andrew Orozco (Coronado, Calif.).
Amherst finished the game holding the 16-4 advantage in shots.

NEC returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 7 when they travel to take on non-conference opponent Elms College. Amherst will hit the field again on Saturday, Sept. 7 when they open NESCAC play hosting Middlebury College.
