Box Score Henniker, N.H.- Wheaton College men's soccer forward Travis Blair (Hastings, N.Y.) would net two goals leading the Lyons past the New England College Pilgrims 2-0 Tuesday evening.
With the win the Lyons improve to 6-1-0 overall. The loss drops the Pilgrims to 2-3-1 on the season.
Wheaton wouldn't waste any time getting on the board as Blair would net his team-high sixth goal of the season putting in a free kick off the foot of Luke Finkelstein (Peabody, Mass.) just 4:16 into play.
The Lyons would continue to control much of the offense in the opening half of play holding the 9-2 advantage in shots on net. Wheaton would extend their lead to 2-0 in the 18th minute of play as the Pilgrims would foul in the box and Blair would convert on a penalty kick, recording his second goal of the game and seventh goal of the season.
The Pilgrims would have several scoring opportunities in the second half of play including a shot by
Rob Lucas (Hooksett, N.H.) that would ricochet off the post and a penalty kick by
Rizy Misiri (Concord, N.H.) that would sail just high.
Wheaton finished the game out shooting the Pilgrims 11-4 and held the slight 6-5 advantage in corners.
Picking up the shutout win in net for Wheaton was Matt Dickey (Newton, Mass.) who recorded four saves. In net for NEC was
Robert Millard (Barrington, R.I.) who finished with eight saves.

NEC returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 21 when they open up conference play at home against Castleton State College. Wheaton will open conference play as well on Saturday, Sept. 21 when they host Springfield College.
