Men's Soccer Edged by Visiting Elms College

Box Score Henniker, N.H.— Elms College's Lorenzo Rolocut (Somers, Conn.) would net a goal in the 64th minute lead the Blazers past the New England College Pilgrims 1-0 Saturday afternoon in Henniker.

With the win the Elms College opens the season 1-0, while NEC starts the season 0-1.

The two teams would battle through a scoreless opening half of play as the Pilgrims would out shoot the Blazers 6-1. The Pilgrims would have their best scoring opportunity late in the half as David Walker (Gabon, Africa) would fire a shot that would go just wide of the net in the final minute of the open half.

The second half would see more offense as the two teams would combine for 10 shots. The Blazers would break the scoreless tie in the 64h minute as Rolocut would put in a free kick off the foot of Josh DiNoto (Branford, Conn.). The two teams would have a few scoring opportunities late in the game but neither team would be able connect as the Blazers would hold on for the 1-0 victory.

Picking up the win for Elms College was Christian Kostka (Oxford, Conn.) who finished with five saves. In net for Picking NEC was Robert Millard (Barrington, R.I.) who finished the game with five saves.
