HENNIKER, N.H. - New England College freshman Ethan Zuniga (Wallingford, Conn.) of the NEC men's soccer team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the opening week ending on September 6th. 

Zuniga made an immediate impact in his first collegiate start on Tuesday, netting his first collegiate goal, which proved to be the game-winner in NEC's 1-0 victory over Plymouth State. The Wallingford, Connecticut-native followed up with another standout performance on Saturday, scoring twice in the Pilgrims' 3-0 win over the University of Maine, Presque Isle. 

Zuniga sits second in the conference with three goals after the opening week.  

The 'Grims return to action Wednesday as they host Vermont State University – Lyndon before opening GNAC competition Saturday against Lasell University at Don Melander Field.
