Men’s Soccer Place 9th in 2026 GNAC Preseason Poll

HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College men's soccer team was voted to finish ninth in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll conducted by the league's 13 head coaches. 

The University of Saint Joseph (CT) sits atop the preseason poll, earning nine of the 13 first place votes as the reigning GNAC champions enter the season as the preseason favorites. Rivier came in second with three first-place votes while Saint Joseph's College of Maine picked up the final first-place tally to round out the top three. 

Norwich, Albertus Magnus, Regis, Emmanuel, and Dean rounded out the top eight, respectively, while New England College was voted in ninth with 68 total points. Colby-Sawyer, Elms, Lasell, and Mitchell were picked to finish in the final four spots of the 13-team field. 

NEC opens their season with four non-conference games, with their season opener set for Saturday, September 5th against the University of Maine – Presque Isle. The 'Grims host the Lasers of Lasell University on Saturday, September 12th in their conference opener.
