PROVIDENCE, R.I. - New England College Men's Wrestling competed in the 2026 Wildcat Open hosted by Johnson and Wales University on Saturday.
Six Pilgrims picked up wins on the day as senior Patrick Hughes (Chelmsford, Mass.) and sophomore Joseph Bolduc (Methuen, Mass.) each advanced to the quarterfinals of their weight class.
Hughes picked up a quick pin over Norwich's Dante Bilskis before winning his next match by technical fall over Dillon Daukantas from Springfield. Bolduc won his first two matches by technical fall by a combined score of 40-9 before taking another win by tech fall by a score of 17-2.
Senior Andrew Piedrahita (Westford, Mass.), sophomore Dominic Gangi (Methuen, Mass.), junior Michael Follo (Derry, N.H.), and freshman Tanner Kamuda (Groveland, Mass.) also picked up wins on the day.
Men's Wrestling is back in action on Thursday night as they host Vermont State University Castleton in Bridges Gym at 7:00 PM.
