NEW LONDON, Conn. - Five New England College men's wrestlers competed in the 2026 New England Wrestling Association Futures Tournament.
Senior Trevion Atallah (Reading, Mass.), senior Joseph Gangi (Methuen, Mass.), freshman Tanner Kamuda (Groveland, Mass.), freshman Dylan Panas (Methuen, Mass.), and freshman Brayden Sohn (West Hartford, Conn.) all represented the Pilgrims in the tournament hosted by the United States Coast Guard Academy.
The day started with Kamuda and Gangi facing off in the first round in the 149-pound weight class in a match where Gangi pinned Kamuda in 1:29 to advance to the round of 16. Kamuda dropped his following match by fall to end his day before Gangi dropped his next two to be eliminated.
Sohn and Panas, also sharing a weight class, fell in their opening match before receiving a bye in their first consolation rounds. Each lost in the following round to round out their day.
Atallah, after receiving a bye in the first round, was defeated in the quarterfinal. He received another bye in the consolation round of 16 before falling in his final match.
The Pilgrims will head back to Connecticut as the United States Coast Guard Academy hosts the NCAA Northeast Regionals starting on February 28.
