HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England College senior Kristina Cardello (Peabody, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Libero of the Week for the week ending on September 21st.  

The Massachusetts native recorded 18 digs, three assists, and two service aces in a 3-0 loss to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday. Cardello and the 'Grims bounced back on Friday to pick up their first GNAC win of the season sweeping the Norwich University Cadets in three sets. Cardello tallied 18 digs and four assists in Friday's win. Cardello recently reached 1000 career digs on August 30th while on the Texas road trip and is currently eight digs away from breaking the all-time digs record at New England College.  

Cardello and the Pilgrims are back in action on Tuesday evening for a non-conference matchup in Gorham, Maine against the University of Southern Maine Huskies. The team returns home on Saturday to host the Monks of Saint Joseph's College of Maine and the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College in a GNAC tri-match.
