PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior
Caden Frost (Steep Falls, Maine) of the New England College men's wrestling team competed at the NCAA National Championships at Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island on Friday.
Frost faced sixth-seeded freshman
Jonah Paulino (Athol, Mass.) of Roanoke College in the first round of the championships, coming up short in an 11-0 major decision. Then in the first round of the consolation bracket, Frost received a bye into the second round where he faced fifth-seeded senior
Jaden Hinton (Glassboro, N.J.) of Baldwin Wallace University. Frost's season came to an end in a 12-3 major decision.
Frost had qualified for the National Championships with his third-place finish in the 133-pound bracket at the NCAA Regionals at Wesleyan University on March 2
nd, earning himself All-Region honors and becoming the sole Pilgrim to qualify for Nationals this year. He entered the weekend with a 25-10 record on the season, including a 5-1 record at Regionals.
