HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College men's basketball team dropped a tough game against visiting Regis on Tuesday at the Bridges Gymnasium in Henniker, New Hampshire in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
THE BASICS

TURNING POINTS
- Both teams started off hot offensively with 13 total points in the first three minutes. Despite jumping ahead early, senior guard Alex Williams (Miramar, Fla.) stopped a scoring chance with a monster block. The momentum did not seem to change as the Pride scored five additional points to gain an eight-point lead a quarter through the first half. The teams went almost two minutes without scoring before Jamir Harvey nailed a pair of free throws to extend the lead to double digits. freshman forward Ryan Cuvier (Tewksbury, Mass.) made his presence felt early as he put up a block and a layup to help the Pilgrims crawl back within ten.
- With 6:43 left to go in the half, the Pride found themselves up by 13, with Aamyr Sullivan, Russel Rau, and Harvey each scoring 8 thus far. The Grims went over six minutes without a bucket before senior guard Ashton Ventola (Danville, N.H.) hit his first two free throws to get onto the board. The half concluded with a 20-point lead for Regis. At halftime, the New England College men's golf team was honored with rings for their Great Northeast Athletic Conference championship win. Williams started the second half making four of his first five baskets as the Pilgrims were not able to cut into the lead. The Pride never looked back as they came away with the decisive win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Pride brought a 20-4 run into the half as Sullivan, who scored 11 in the first frame, finished with 17, with Harvey leading the game with 18. Williams led the Pilgrims with 20.
- Sullivan led the game in assists with seven, as sophomore guard Mike Strazzeri (Chichester, N.H.) led NEC with five.
- Regis' Rau was all over the boards with 11 rebounds, as Junior guard Kenray Emadamerho (Manchester, N.H.), Williams, and Cuvier each had five.
UP NEXT
- Up next for NEC, the team will be in Connecticut on Saturday as they visit Mitchell College at 1:00 PM.
- Regis will travel back up to New Hampshire on Saturday as they visit Rivier for a 2:00 PM tipoff.
