WORCESTER, Mass. – The New England College men's wrestling team endured a 42-9 loss against Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Saturday from the Sports & Recreation Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.
TOP 'GRIMS
- The first two matches on the day were in favor of WPI by fall earning them a 12 point lead over NEC. Senior Boburjon Berdiyorov (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) would get NEC's momentum going getting his hand raised for a technical fall victory making it a 12-5 score with WPI still out in front.
- The Goats would tack on an additional three points from a decision win that would quickly be responded to in the next matchup as junior Zach Soda (Burlington, Mass.) claimed a major decision win, but WPI was still in control of the dual, 15-9.
- From there on the Goats were firing on all cylinders accumulating an additional 27 points with the 'Grims unable to respond to the onslaught produced by WPI resulting in a 42-9 victory for the hosts.

- NEC is back on the mats on Saturday, February 8th at 11:00 AM when they take on Rhode Island College on the road in Providence, Rhode Island from the Recreation center.
