CHICOPEE, Mass. – The New England College men's basketball team fell to the Elms College Blazers on Saturday at Picknelly Arena in Chicopee, Massachusetts in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Sophomore center Aiden MacLeod (Wilmington, Mass.) started the scoring for the Pilgrims with four to start the game before jumping out to a 10-7 lead. The teams traded baskets as neither team had a lead higher than four for the rest of the first half. The Pilgrims took a 27-25 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Blazers took a 39-36 lead off a three from Jaiden Lopez and never looked back. Despite multiple baskets from the Pilgrims, they were not able to climb back ahead as they fell 62-56.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Elms' RJ Mayfield led the game in scoring with 16 points, while sophomore guard Mike Strazzeri (Chichester, N.H.) led the Pilgrims with 14. Graduate guard Nick Gomeau (Enfield, Conn.) and Aden Goffe followed with 13 apiece.
- Gomeau and Neilon led the game with three assists each. Senior guard Theisen Lee (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Aaron Sanchez followed behind with two.
- Mayfield led the game with nine rebounds as senior guard Alex Williams (Miramar, Fla.) and Addison Phifer were tied with seven.
