YORK, Penn. - The New England College Men's Wrestling team competed in the 2025 New Standard Corporation Invitational hosted by York College of Pennsylvania in a two-day event.
Junior Brandon Lavasta (Lawrence, Mass.), junior Michael Follo (Derry, N.H.), senior Patrick Hughes (Chelmsford, Mass.), and freshman Tanner Kamuda (Groveland, Mass.) all picked up wins in the tournament.
After falling in the first round, Follo picked up a 20-4 technical fall victory over Colin Dragon of the United States Merchant Marine Academy in the first consolation round. He pinned his way into the next consolation round before falling by pin to conclude his run.
Kamuda suffered a loss by fall in the round of 32 before picking up a 13-10 decision victory of Johnson and Wales's Jared Spahn. His tournament ended in the next round as he picked up a loss by fall.
Hughes picked up an 11-4 decision victory over Washington and Lee's Trey Custodio and a victory by fall over Ursinus's Nic Brockson in an effort that ended in the consolation round of eight.
Lavasta recorded his lone win against Alfred's Colton Hai by pin in 41 seconds.
