SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - New England College Men's Wrestling competed at the 2025 Doug Parker Invitational hosted by Springfield College on Saturday. All nine Pilgrims who competed at the event earned a win with three of them making it into the quarterfinals and beyond.
Junior Brandon Lavasta (Lawrence, Mass.), senior Patrick Hughes (Chelmsford, Mass.), and sophomore Joseph Bolduc (Methuen, Mass.) cruised their way through their first two matches to reach the final eight of their weight class.
Lavasta, after receiving a first-round bye, went 2-2 on the day.
After reaching the round of eight, Hughes suffered his first loss of the day after starting the day with a bye, a major decision in the round of 16, and a decision loss in the quarterfinal.
Bolduc received a first-round bye before winning by technical fall in the round of 16 and a major decision in the quarterfinal to reach the semi-finals. He closed out the tournament with two decision wins to win his first tournament of the season.
Men's Wrestling heads to York, Pennsylvania to compete in the New Standard Invitational on December 5.
