HENNIKER, N.H. - New England College junior forward Meadow Gilchrist (Stamford, Conn.) of the NEC women's ice hockey team has been named the Female Pilgrim of the Month for December of 2024 in an announcement by the Department of Athletics on Monday afternoon.

Gilchrist has been the team's top goal scorer all season, leading the team with six goals in 12 games. Her six goals are currently the fourth most in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC). With an additional four assists on the campaign, Gilchrist sits tied for fourth in the conference with 10 total points – sitting only behind members of the top placed Elmira squad. 

Gilchrist scored her first two goals of the season against Plymouth State on November 5th before rounding out the month with scores against UMass-Boston and Southern Maine. In the team's only two contests in December, Gilchrist scored a goal in each game against Keene State. Most recently, on January 3rd, Meadow added two assists in the team's first win over Anna Maria. 

"Recognition as Pilgrim of the Month is a testament to not only Meadow's hard work and dedication but also her unwavering commitment to excellence, both on and off the ice," said head coach Mackenzie Meegan. "This achievement reflects the values we strive to instill in all our players—leadership, perseverance, and a relentless drive to improve. We're incredibly proud of Meadow and excited to see what the future holds." 

Gilchrist and the 'Grims will look to keep the winning ways going as they travel to Albertus Magnus on Friday and Saturday for a pair of NEHC matchups.
