COLLEGEVILLE, Penn. – The New England College men's wrestling team won one out of four dual matches at the Manganaro Duals on Saturday at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.
TOP 'GRIMS
- Junior Josh Beam (Londonderry, N.H.) got the final win for the Pilgrims in round one as he won a close 12-10 decision over Quincy Risper of Delaware Valley. Beam earned a forfeit win against AIC.
- Senior Boburjon Berdiyorov (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) got the first win of the day for the Pilgrims as he was able to defeat Delaware Valley's Sean O'Toole in a 10-3 decision. Berdiyorov won a thrilling second match by major decision with a 23-12 final over Dylan Vanegas of Castleton. He got a third win with a tech fall over Luis Rosa of AIC.
- Freshman Joseph Bolduc (Methuen, Mass.) took down Castleton's Colby Celuck 4-1 in overtime.
- Sophomore Michael Follo (Derry, N.H.) pinned AJ Stayton for his only win of the day.
- Junior Caden Frost (Steep Falls, Maine) earned his first win of the day as he took down Castleton's Stone Farnsworth by a technical fall. Frost got his second win of the day with an 8-2 decision win over AIC's Aaron Morocho. He completed the hat trick with his third win by pinning Eli Bounds of Shippensburg.
- Freshman Dominic Gangi (Methuen, Mass.) got his first win of the day of Daniel McLaughlin of American International College off a fall with one second left in the match. Gangi picked up his second win of the day with a forfeit win over Shippensburg's Noah Gilgore.
- Freshman Rocco Hayden (Oxford, Maine) won by major decision in his first match against Declan Smith of DelVal. Hayden Pinned American International's Cqari Bacote just 1:43 into their match for his second win of the day. Hayden got his third win with a pin over Shippensburg's Anthony Lavish.
- Sophomore Brandon Lavasta (Lawrence, Mass.) took a forfeit win in the 285 weight class against AIC.
