Men’s Wrestling Falls Short at Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The New England College men's wrestling team competed in their first dual meet of the season on Friday evening, losing 45-6 at Springfield College at Blake Arena in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Beginning at the 125-pound weight class, NEC junior Patrick Hughes (Chelmsford, Mass.) lost by pinfall at 4:59 to Springfield sophomore Jack Callahan (Tewksbury, Mass.).
At 133-pound weight class, NEC sophomore Michael Follo (Derry, N.H.) won a 12-6 decision over Springfield first year Esuar Ordonez (Putnam Valley, N.Y.).
At 141-pound weight class, NEC junior Cole Patterson (Raleigh, N.C.) lost by pinfall at 4:34 to Springfield junior Ryan Kozdra (Mahwah, N.J.).
At 149-pound weight class, NEC senior Wyatt Gentile (Sunset Beach, N.C.) lost by pinfall at :43 to Springfield senior Luke Temple (Jackson, N.J.).
At 157-pound weight class, NEC freshman Rocco Hayden (Oxford, Maine) lost by technical fall, 17-1 (6:45), to Springfield junior Lucien Perla (Stow, Mass.).
At 165-pound weight class, NEC freshman Dominic DeMaio (Methuen, Mass.) lost by technical fall, 23-7, 4:59 to Springfield senior Matt Duquette (Bristol, Conn.).
At 174-pound weight class, NEC freshman Joseph Bolduc (Methuen, Mass.) won an 8-2 decision over Springfield senior Jacob Deguire (Schenectady, N.Y.).
At 197-pound weight class, NEC senior Trevion Atallah (Reading, Mass.) lost by technical fall, 16-1 (2:33) to Springfield junior Casey Allen (Park Ridge, N.J.).
At 285-pound weight class, NEC sophomore Brandon Lavasta (Lawrence, Mass.) lost by pinfall at :44 to Springfield junior Ben Katz (Medford, N.Y.).
