HENNIKER, N.H. - Freshman forward
Alexis Hornsby (Atkinson, N.H.) of the New England College women's ice hockey team has been named as the Pilgrim of the Month for the month of December in an announcement by the NEC athletics department on Thursday.
During the month Hornsby has played a pivotal role in the Pilgrims success as of late executing thus far a three-game win streak going into the 2024 year.
During that span Hornsby accounted for five goals and four assists during the month. The freshman's best outings came against MCLA where she recorded two goals and an assist during each of the two games taken place when up against faced them. Along with this accolade on the month Hornsby was also recognized as the NEHC Rookie of the Week making it the third time on the season where she's earned the award.
"Alexis has had a great start to her freshman season!" Head coach Makenzie Meegan said of her up and coming rookie star. "She is continuously working to make herself better as well as everyone around her, and I am excited to her growth not only in the second half of our season but years to come."
