STANDISH, Maine – The New England College men's basketball team sustained an 85-55 loss at St. Joseph's College of Maine on Wednesday evening at the Harold Alfond Center in Standish, Maine in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.  
THE BASICS 
Score: New England College 55, St. Joseph's (ME) 85 
Records: Pilgrims 4-14, 1-6 GNAC | Monks 9-9, 5-2 GNAC 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
	- The Monks jumped out to an early double-digit lead that persisted for the majority of the first half, peaking at 22 points just before the break. NEC connected on seven three-pointers in the half, paced by sophomore guards Michael Hills (Baton Rouge, Lous.) and Stravis Lutchman (Palmetto, Fla.) who each went two-for-two from deep, but the team as a whole struggled to score inside-the-arc. A Lutchman three with 26 seconds left in the first half would cut the St. Joes lead to 19 going into halftime. 
- The Monks would continue to control the game in the second, behind a team-wide mark of 47.1 percent from distance in the half. Behind some hot shooting and strong defense, SJC would run away with this one, 85-55.  
INSIDE THE NUMBERS 
	- SJC sophomore guard Ben Seiler (Enfield, N.H.) would lead all scorers with 16 points in just 14 minutes for the Monks. Graduate forward Ashtyn Abbott (Farmingdale, Maine) would add 11 points. 
- NEC sophomore guard Junior Efosa (Haverhill, Mass.) led the way for the 'Grims with 11 points off the bench. Meanwhile, Hills contributed nine points on three-of-five shooting and added three steals on the defensive end.  
- Senior guard Kyle Inglis (Burlington, Mass.) scored eight points and made five assists, while junior guard Alex Williams (Miramar, Fla.) was good for eight points and four rebounds. Senior forward Treyjon Lewis (Stamford, Conn.) brought down a team-high seven boards. 
- Saint Joseph's (ME) nearly shot as well from three-point range (46.9%) as they did from the field (47.6%).
