Men’s Wrestling Wins Dual Meet, 50-6 Over Maine Maritime

HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College men's wrestling team competed against visiting Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday at Bridges Gymnasium in Henniker, New Hampshire.

NEC freshman Michael Follo (Derry, N.H.) won by forfeit, team score 6-0 in favor of New England College.
NEC junior Wyatt Gentile (Sunset Beach, N.C.) won by forfeit, team score 12-0 in favor of New England College. Gentile's second match was an exhibition that ended in a pin fall victory at 1:31, (6-1). Finishes the day with a 1-0 record.
NEC graduate Chris DeRosa (Billerica, Mass.) took care of things in convincing fashion with pin fall at 1:25 (10-1), Team score 18-0 in favor of New England College. Finishes the day with a 1-0 record.
NEC junior John Lafferty (Woburn, Mass.) won exhibition by pin fall, (3-0) in just seven seconds into the match. In his second match Lafferty won by forfeit, team score 24-0 in favor of New England College. Finishes the day with a 1-0 record.
NEC junior Zach Soda (Burlington, Mass.) handled his outing in a dominant way after winning the match by technical fall (17-1), team score 29-0 in favor of New England College. Finishes the day with a 1-0 record.
NEC freshman Andrew Piedrahita (Westford, Mass.) executed things well in his exhibition match acquiring a pin fall win on the day (10-1) at 1:21. Second match went the same as the last with Piedrahita securing another victory by decision (6-1), team score 32-0 in favor of New England College. Finishes the day with a 2-0 record.
NEC sophomore Kyle Gora (Hudson, N.H.) finished his match by pin fall at 1:14 (7-0), team score 38-0 in favor of New England College. Finishes the day with a 1-0 record.
NEC junior Trevion Atallah (Reading, Mass.) won by forfeit, team score 44-0 in favor of New England College. Atallah's second match was a close one in the exhibition but in the end, he was the victor in that outing with a win by decision, (11-9). Finishes the day with a 1-0 record.
NEC senior Nathaniel Philion (Charlton, Mass.) dropped the first exhibition by decision, (7-4). Ends his outing with a 0-2 record accounting for the loss in second match by pin fall (10-1), 44-6 in favor of New England College.
NEC junior Marcos Colon (Haverhill, Mass.) won by forfeit, team score 50-6 in favor of New England College.
NEC sophomore Joe Gangi (Methuen, Mass.) won the exhibition at 0:55 by pin fall, (3-0). Finishes the day with a 1-0 record.
NEC freshman Michael Palma (Londonderry, N.H.) concluded his exhibition with a decision loss, 12-7. Finishes the day with a 0-1 record.
NEC junior Kaden White (Goodlettsville, Tenn.) takes the victory on the day in his exhibition bout by decision, (8-1). Finishes the day with a 1-0 record.
