FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – The New England College men's basketball team gets their first win of the season at Framingham State University on Saturday afternoon at the FSU Athletic and Recreation Center in Framingham, Massachusetts in non-conference action.

TURNING POINTS
- Framingham State was the first on the board after a couple of made free throws made by junior guard Kyle Philistin and continued that momentum to an 18-8 start with 12:46 remaining in the first half.
- NEC answered with a huge 29-12 run that was led by senior guard Kyle Inglis (Burlington, Mass.) who got a few tough layups and a three-pointer to end the half with a 37-30 lead.
- The second half was all in the 'Grims' control as they came out more confident with a 13-4 run with 12:48 remaining in regulation.
- Although they could not regain the lead again, the Rams were able to cut it to eight with under 12 minutes remaining with 13 second-half points from graduate guard Jonathan Noel that would end the game in favor of NEC 72-63.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Junior guard Alex Williams (Miramar, Fla.) was dominant in the win by recording a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
- Inglis and graduate guard Nick Gomeau (Enfield, Conn.) both contributed 15 points each with Inglis grabbing three boards and seven dishes while Gomeau recorded six rebounds and three assists.
- Noel led the Rams with 22 points in the game to go along with six rebounds and three steals.
- Philistin was able to get 12 points in 30 minutes of action with seven boards and a block.
- The 'Grims shot 25-58 (43.1%) over the Rams 19-66 (28.8%) from the field.
- Both teams shot poorly from the arc with NEC going 25% and Framingham State shooting 13%.
- Despite the loss, the Rams were able to have a 17-7 advantage on bench points in the afternoon matchup.
