TURNING POINTS

  • Despite being only 54 miles away, Plymouth State felt as if they were home as they came in with a strong 15-4 opening which then led to an NEC 16-11 run that was capped off by an ethatic slam dunk by sophomore guard Junior Efosa (Haverhill, Mass.).
  • The Panthers would end up leading at halftime 42-29 off another run led by junior forward Elijah Swanson's (Meredith, N.H.) back-to-back buckets with under two minutes remaining.
  • Plymouth State started chipping further away from NEC's reach, but the 'Grims were able to cut the deficit back to 12 after graduate guard Nick Gomeau's (Enfield, Conn.) made free throw to make it 65-53 in favor of the Panthers.
  • From then on, Plymouth State's senior guard Kyler Bosse (Manchester, N.H.) was just lights out by contributing 18 of the Panther's 43 second-half points and eventually leading them to an 85-66 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Bosse was approvingly the player of the game with his electric impact with 26 total points and four rebounds.
  • NEC's leading scorer was Efosa, who ended with 11 points along with four rebounds himself and a steal.
  • Sophomore guard Stravis Lutchman (Palmetto, Fla.) gave the 'Grims a nice boost off the bench with eight points while going 4/5 from the field along with an assist and a rebound.
  • Shooting went in all Plymouth State's direction as they ended going 30-61 (49.2%) to NEC's 23-55 (41.8%).

  • NEC never led the entire game.
