HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College men's ice hockey team lost 3-1 to visiting UMass Boston on Saturday evening at Lee Clement Arena in Henniker, New Hampshire in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action.

HOW IT HAPPENED

UMB freshman forward Mike Manzo (Troy, Mich.) got the Beacons on the board just 1:38 into the game, assisted by junior forward Corey Clifton (Matawan, N.J.) and junior defenseman Blake Colman (Boston, Mass.) to go ahead 1-0.
The Beacons scored two more goals in the second, those coming from junior forward Evan Googins (Braintree, Mass.) and sophomore defenseman Pat Keegan (Maynard, Mass.).
Trailing 3-0 late in the game, the 'Grims finally capitalized on a five-on-three advantage as NEC junior forward Anthony Cinato (Warren, Mich.) scored his eighth goal of the season on the power play, assisted by sophomore forward David Novotny (Delray Beach, Fla.) and graduate forward Bernie McGovern (Medford, Mass.).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

NEC senior goalie Spencer Kozlowski (Vancouver, B.C.) tallied 35 saves on the day for a .921 save percentage.
UMB freshman goalie Darius Bell (Miami, Fla.) picked up the win, finishing with 29 saves.
Team shots were 38-30 in favor of the Beacons.

Up next for NEC, the 'Grims look to bounce back when they travel to Castleton on Friday for a 7:00 p.m. NEHC contest.
The Beacons will look to make it two in a row when they host the University of Southern Maine at 7:00 p.m.
