QUINCY, Mass. – The New England College men's basketball team struggled to get going early in their New England Collegiate Conference opener against Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday at the Lahue Center in Quincy, Massachusetts.

The Lions got off to a hot start as they scored the first 12 points of the game. The home team would stretch their lead to 27 points by the break.

The Pilgrims were a completely different team in the second half as they outscored their opponents 43-34. Unfortunately, the damage done in the first half proved too much to overcome as ENC held onto an 18-point win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

The Pilgrims were led in scoring by junior guard Kyle Inglis (Burlington, Mass.) who put up 14 points.

Sophomore guard Alex Williams (Miramar, Fla.) flirted with a double-double with 9 points and 10 rebounds.

Freshman guard Jasen Stovall (Tampa, Fla.) scored 11 points (2-4 3pt) while sophomore guard Cameron Le Van (Elizabeth, Colo.) added 9 points (3-7 3pt).

Eastern Nazarene junior guard JaWaun Moore (Dayton, Ohio) led all scorers with 24 points on an efficient 9 of 13 shooting day.

Junior forward Bernie McGuinness (Cumming, Ga.) added 15 points and 12 boards for the Lions.

Despite the loss, the NEC bench played well in accounting for more than half of the team's scoring on the day (32 of 60).
