HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College men's basketball team fell against visiting Tufts University on Tuesday at the Bridges Gymnasium in Henniker, New Hampshire in nonconference action.

Freshman guard Junior Efosa (Haverhill, Mass.) announced his arrival to the starting lineup with a huge dunk to cut Tufts' lead to 7-6 just a few minutes into the game.

The two teams traded blows early until Tufts began to pull away. From 12:53 to 6:15 left in the first half, the Jumbos went on a 20-4 run behind some stellar shooting from Tufts senior guard Dylan Thoerner (Irvine, Calif.) who went 4-4 from distance in the first half.

Tufts kept the momentum going into the second half where the shots kept falling. The visitors kept their lead above 20 for most of the second half on their way to a 30-point victory.

Junior guard Kyle Inglis (Burlington, Mass.) led NEC with 14 points while freshman guard Khalon Taylor (Tuscon, Ariz.) was the only other 'Grim to hit double figures with 10 points.

NEC junior forward Treyjon Lewis (Norwalk, Conn.) added 8 points and 4 rebounds off the bench.

Thoerner led all scorers with 19 points on 7 of 10 shooting including being a perfect 5 of 5 from beyond-the-ark while freshman forward Scott Gyimesi (Fair Haven, N.J.) contributed 13 points and 5 boards.

The 'Grims connected on 14 of 16 free throws, good for 87.5 percent from the charity stripe.

With the loss, NEC falls to 1-7 all time versus the Jumbos.
