Women's Volleyball Splits at Beacons Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – The New England College women's volleyball team split their two matches at the 2022 Beacons Invitational hosted by UMass Boston on Saturday afternoon at the Clark Athletic Center in Boston, Massachusetts, dropping the Wolves of Keuka College in four sets before falling just short in a five-set thriller to the Mariners of the Maine Maritime Academy.

The Pilgrims are now 2-6 on the season.

TOP PILGRIMS

  • NEC junior outside hitter Amber Thi (Kalihi, Hawaii) averaged 3.11 kills per set over nine sets for the 'Grims, to go along with 2.0 digs per set, seven aces and three total blocks.
  • NEC sophomore outside hitter Savannah Pilialoha (Waipahu, Hawaii) dominated against the Wolves with a match-high 14 kills. She would total 20 on the day, to go along with 18 digs and four service aces.
  • NEC senior middle blocker Livia Elfering (Parker, Colo.) was a presence at the net with 17 kills and four total blocks.
  • NEC senior libero Jaycie Kodama (Pauoa Valley, Hawaii) posted a superb defensive effort, averaging 4.44 digs per set to go along with six aces.
  • NEC junior setter Arianna Blaize-Llamas (Honolulu, Hawaii) setup the 'Grims offense, totaling 43 set assists on the day and 25 digs.

  • NEC is back on the court on Tuesday when they travel to Roger Williams for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
