Castleton, Vt. – The New England College women's basketball team won their second straight game at the 2022 Spartan Classic Invitational hosted by Castleton University on Sunday afternoon with a 56-48 victory over Thomas College at Glenbrook Gym in Castleton, Vermont.

TURNING POINTS
- Down 48-45 with 3:54 left in the game, the 'Grims closed out the game with an 11-0 run, completely shutting down the Terriers' attack. NEC senior forward Ericka Pratt (Miami, Fla.) scored five of those points, part of her team-leading 14 points and nine rebounds. Pratt was named to the Spartan Classic All-Tournament team for her performance in guiding NEC to a 2-0 record.

- Pratt shot six-of-nine from the floor with three steals.
- NEC junior center Kathleen Rodriguez (McFarlane, Cali.) continued her strong play of late with 12 points and four rebounds.
- Thomas' Kristina Perry led the Terriers with 11 points.
- NEC senior guard Andrea Smellie (Miramar, Fla.) dished out five assists and pulled down seven rebounds.
- NEC freshman guard Makiah Scott (Washington, D.C.) scored ten points off the bench.
