HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College men's basketball team lost their first home game of the season 79-65 to visiting Lasell University on Saturday evening at the Bridges Gymnasium in Henniker, New Hampshire in non-conference action.

TURNING POINTS
- With Lasell leading 34-28 at halftime, the 'Grims were still within six with 11:19 to go in the game after a three-point play from freshman shooting guard Stravis Lutchman (Bradenton, Fla.), 53-47. The Lasers eventually opened it up with a 16-6 run powered by graduate guard EJ Day (Norwalk, Conn.), who led all scorers with 45 points on the night.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Luchtman came off the bench to lead the 'Grims with 16 points, including three-of-five from behind the arc.
- Day shot 15-of-22 from the floor while coming away with five steals.
- NEC sophomore forward Alex Williams (Miramar, Fla.) finished one point and one rebound short of a double-double, with nine and nine along with four assists, two steals and a block.
- Lasell junior forward Tate Niemela (Jaffrey, N.H.) chipped in ten points for the Lasers.
- NEC junior guard Kyle Inglis (Burlington, Mass.) added ten points, while junior forward Treyjon Lewis (Norwalk, Conn.) pulled down a team-high eleven rebounds.
