HENNIKER, N.H. – Senior libero Jaycie Kodama (Pauoa Valley, Hawaii) became the first Pilgrim in school history to reach the thousand career dig milestone as the New England College women's volleyball team swept both ends of their tri-match against visiting Lesley University and the Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Saturday at the Bridges Gymnasium in Henniker, New Hampshire, with their victory over the Lynx of Lesley giving the Pilgrims a 2-0 record in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Kodama, the 2021 NECC Defensive Player of the Year and already the school's all-time leader in career digs, entered the day just 24 digs short of the 1K milestone. She recorded 12 digs in NEC's three-set win over Lesley in NECC action. Then against the Buccaneers, Kodama helped the Pilgrims take a two-set lead. Down 4-3 early in the third, Kodama defended an attack for her 1000th career dig then later set on the rally-winning attack to tie the set as the home team pulled away down the stretch. In six sets on the day, Kodama finished with 31 digs, six service aces and nine set assists.
- NEC senior middle blocker Samantha Vargas (Riverside, Calif.) posted ten aces against the Lynx, then led the Pilgrims against the Buccaneers with nine kills.
- NEC freshman outside hitter Lily-Anne Heywood (Derry, N.H.) had the best match of her career against the Lynx, hitting .818 with nine kills.
- NEC junior setter Arianna Blaize Llamas (Honolulu, Hawaii) filled the stat line with 11 service aces, 15 set assists and 11 digs.
