HOW IT HAPPENED

The first period saw very even play from both teams with neither able to gain a definitive edge despite opportunities both ways. The Beavers narrowly edged the Pilgrims in shots in the period 9-8 with neither team able to find the back of the net. Babson won the faceoff battle in the period winning 7 of the 10 faceoffs. The period closed at 0-0 as the first goal of the game was yet to come.

The scoring drought would not last in the second period as the Beavers were able to find the back of the net just under two minutes into the period for a 1-0 lead. Babson kept pushing as they were able to score on a rebound about a minute later to extend their lead to 2-0. New England College had several opportunities but the Beavers would get the next goal as they claimed a 3-0 lead halfway through the period. Babson's offensive effort was relentless in the period as they added another a few minutes later to make it 4-0. The Beavers were able to add two more before the period closed as they headed into the third with a commanding 6-0 lead.

The Pilgrims switched up goaltenders for the third period as Jack Maxwell picked up his first collegiate minutes. New England College was still unable to get anything to go offensively in the third period as they came up empty-handed. Babson was able to add one more goal as they claimed a convincing 7-0 win.
