Men's Ice Hockey Roll To 6-1 Win Over Framingham State

HENNIKER, N.H. Nikita Pintusov leads the way with two more goals, as the New England College men's ice hockey team defeated Framingham State University 6-1 in non-conference action Tuesday evening.
The Pilgrims improve to 12-7-1 overall, while the Rams fall to 2-14-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pilgrims came out hot as they found the back of the net just 35 seconds into the game off a Nikita Pintusov goal. Daniel Bergqvist and Carlos Fornaris picked up assists on the goal. Things slowed down from there but New England College was able to maintain control. The Pilgrims outshot the Rams 20-4 in the period as they dominated play. Connor Inger added one more in the final two minutes to give NEC a 2-0 lead they would hold at the end of the period. Bernie McGovern and Trevor Momot earned assists on the goal.

Framingham State was able to grab the quick start in the second period as they found the back of the net just over four minutes in to cut the lead to 2-1. New England College was able to respond a few minutes later to bring the lead to 3-1. CJ Valerian scored the goal as Jacob Hedencrona and Brendan White were credited with assists. The Pilgrims would add two more goals in the final five minutes of the game for a 5-1 lead going into the final frame of play.

Neither team was able to get much going as play evened out some. The third period saw a flurry of penalties as NEC amassed 38 minutes in the Period and the Rams had 16. Jhuwon Davis scored the lone goal in the period about halfway through for a 6-1 lead. Alex Laplante and Nicholas Rein each earned assists on what would be the final goal of the game.

GOALTENDERS
Spencer Kozlowski turned aside 27 shots in the winning effort. Greg Harney collected 48 saves for the Rams.
