The Beavers controlled the majority of the play as they had two power-play opportunities and outshot the Pilgrims in the opening 20 minutes 17-3.
The Pilgrims were able to tie the game up a 1-1 early in the second period. Connor Inger scored on a one-time, beating the Babson goalie to the low glove side. Carlos Fornais and DeBlois were credited with the assist on the power-play goal. One minute later, the Beavers were able to regain the lead, as Egan found Black for the go-ahead goal. New England College nearly knotted the game up at 2-2 halfway through the second, as the trio of Jhuwon Davis, Hunter Hall, and Alex Laplante had the Babson netminder out of position, but the Beaver defense kept the puck out of the net. Ryan Black and Mike Egan would connect for the third time in the game with just two minutes remaining in the second period.
Babson expanded their lead with just over five minutes remaining in the third period, as Matt Wiesner scored off of a drop pass from Andrew Holland. New England College capitalized on the man-advantage with just over a minute left in regulation, as DeBlois one-timer from the point, beat Arvanitis. Despite a late flurry of shots by the Pilgrims, Babson was able to hold on to pick up the 4-2 win.
