NEC alumnus Jay Pecora'97 brings his Wentworth Institute of Technology Leopards to Henniker for the third meeting with New England College on Saturday afternoon.
SCOUTING THE PILGRIMS
NEC returns to action for their first game since Thanksgiving. Prior to the holiday, the Pilgrims picked up a 5-2 win over Becker for their third victory in a row.
Bryce Nielsen led the NEC offense with two goals in the win against Becker. He is the team's leading scorer with five goals, and also had five assists for 10 points.
Adam Zollnerleads the team in total points with 11 from three goals and eight assists.
Sophomore goaltender
Christoffer Sjoo picked up his second win of the season against Becker. Senior
Kyle Shapiro holds a 3-4 record and a .905 save percentage in net this season.
SCOUTING THE LEOPARDS
Wentworth enters today's game with a 2-5-1 overall record and a 2-3-1 record in Commonwealth Coast Conference play. The Leopards lost their last outing, 3-0 to Nichols at home, and tied Nichols 3-3 in their previous meeting the day before.
Junior Angus Johnston leads the team in scoring with four goals and two assists for six points. Senior Jake McDonough also has six assists from two goals and four assists.
Pecora is in his fourth season at the helm of the Wentworth program and currently holds a 28-49-9 record.
HEAD TO HEAD
The Pilgrims and Leopards have met in each of the last two years, with NEC winning both. Last season was a 6-3 victory in Henniker.
