Beaulieu Repeats as LEC Goalkeeper of the Week

HENNIKER, N.H. - For a second consecutive week, sophomore goalkeeper Anthony Beaulieu (Lawrence, Mass.) of the NEC men's ice hockey team has been named the Little East Conference (LEC) Goalkeeper of the Week for the week ending on January 18th.

Beaulieu needed just one game this week to make a major impact as the Pilgrims cruised to a 5-1 win over their travel partner, Plymouth State, on Saturday. The sophomore made 31 saves with a save percentage of .969. The Panthers scored on a power-play late in the first period, one of seven man-up opportunities throughout the game for the visitors, but Beaulieu and company shut them out the rest of the way to earn another conference victory.

The Pilgrims are now riding a mini two-game winning streak, going back to last weekend's win over nationally ranked Babson. In those two games, Beaulieu has posted a .973 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average against two teams in the top-half of the LEC standings.

Beaulieu and the 'Grims will look to keep the momentum going into their weekend homestand as they host the LEC's top-ranked Norwich on Friday at 7:00 PM and VTSU-Castleton on Saturday at 4:00 PM.
