Alex Schmidt joined the New England College football coaching staff prior to the inaugural 2024 season as the graduate assistant working with the defensive line, as well as the Director of Football Operations.

As a graduate assistant, he will be working towards earning his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Sports & Recreation Management.

Schmidt played defensive line at Dartmouth College and graduated in 2022 earning a bachelor’s degree. He was a part of the 2019 and 2021 Ivy League Championship teams. Prior to his collegiate playing career, Schmidt played one season as a post-graduate student at The Peddie School in New Jersey where he won the Mid-Atlantic Prep League, MAPL, Championship. Before that, he attended Pennridge High School in Pennsylvania where he served as a senior captain of the football team. Schmidt has 20 years of playing experience in football.

Following the conclusion of his 5th year season at Dartmouth College in 2022, Schmidt served as an assistant coach for his alma mater Pennridge High School where he primarily coached the defensive line for the varsity, JV, and freshman teams.
