Women’s Soccer Selected 12th in 2026 GNAC Preseason Poll

HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's soccer team was voted to finish 12th in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll conducted by the league's 14 head coaches. 

Rivier sits atop the preseason poll, earning seven first place votes and 186 points, just edging out the defending champions, Emmanuel, who came in second with 184 points and the other seven first-place votes. Lasell and Albertus Magnus rounded out the top four. 

Regis was picked in 5th while the University of Saint Joseph (CT), Saint Joseph's College of Maine, and Norwich comprised spots six through eight. Elms, Simmons, and Colby-Sawyer came in ninth, tenth, and eleventh. 

The 'Grims sit in 12th place with 43 points, coming out ahead of Dean and Mitchell as the team looks to make a jump in the standings in year four of GNAC action. The Pilgrims added three wins last season from the year before and are poised to move up in 2026. 

NEC begins the regular season on September 4th against Vermont State – Castleton before starting conference play on September 12th against the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.).
